Ray Dartley launches Positive Age Week
DJ Ray Dartley helped Age Action Ireland launch "Positive Age Week" at a tea party in the Merrion Hotel yesterday(2.12.2008).
Positive Age Week will run from Monday 8th - Sunday 15th December 2009. Age Action Irelands main aim is to improve the quality of life for older people, especially the disadvantaged and vulnerable.
The campaign aims to dispel negative perceptions that surround ageing and to transform attitudes. It is also hoping to raise much needed funds for the charity.
During Positive Age Week, people are encouraged to organise parties of all sizes to celebrate the elderly. A nominated fund raiser will accept donations at each event.
Deputy chief executive of Age Action Ireland, Lorraine Dorgan said:"We need to celebrate the fact that we are living longer; that ageing is not a burden but an opportunity. I would like to encourage as many people as possible around the country to take part in Positive Age Action."
To register as a fundraiser for Positive Age Action Week, contact Lorraine Dorgan on 012345678 or visit www.ageaction.ie

the search is over

So statistics show that only 20% of people using Google actually click on the paid for results. I can't say I'm surprised. When I was in DCU I had to write 3 reports each week which generally included a lot of research...let's just say Google became my Saviour! I can honestly say that I never clicked on a listing on the right-hand side of the page, ever!!!! The reason being, the sites are only on the top of the page because they have paid to be there, not because Google has deemed the site to have good content. If it's good enough to make the first page of Google, it's good enough for me!

The fact that people can out bid you at any time, knocking your expensive ad off the top of the page, says it all for me. The only good thing seems to be the fact that you can decide what time your advert will be on the first page. This means that after some serious analysing you can determine how to get the most out of your investment by targeting your audience.

My opinion would be to hire a good web technician, and let him do all the work instead. It would be a sounder investment in the long run. Appearing top of the Google listings can last long into the future increasing your profits.

Actually I can't even write this because my loser boyfriend is blaring sky sports news and I can't think straight for the life of me!!! He is soooooooooooo annoying...comes into my house, changes the channel I'm watching, eats my chocolates, drinks my coke and then disturbs by stupid blogging!! Aaaaaarrrrrrgh
