second webpage

So starting from scratch was easier than we thought. Didnt bother adding any effects to the background this time, just left it black and kept it simple. Resized all our photos on the web, pretty good site, did most of the work for us. Sliced all the buttons again, Still couldnt figure out how to create the content page again so we just deleted that section in dreamweaver and typed in dreamweaver. We added pictures and linked them to the larger versions of them to open in a new page. This was very easy to do, easier than I thought it would be. We tried to create the zoom feature but we couldnt get it to work. It created a new page but scrolling the mouse over the image didnt make any diference so we left this out of our page.

webpage

Could not figure out how to do much for this ca. Thought it was just too complicated. Ended up not creating a content slice which meant that any text I wanted to add would have to be done on a seperate photoshop file then exported in. Total disaster!! Was going ok until I deleted parts of the file by accident when trying to save it onto a cd and ended up doing the whole thing from scratch.

Dust off ur wardrobe

Myself and Sarah are basing our webpage on fashion in times of a recession. We chose this topic as it is a current crisis that most of us are now faced with....not enough money to buy new clothes(unless of course you're Sarah and you practically own shares in RiverIsland!!)

Anywho, we wanted to create an animated gif like one we seen on the off the rails site with a lipstick writing text on the screen but it was an advert on the link below that appears to have been replaced by a top gear ad!!! http://www.rte.ie/fashion/2009/0914/recessionproof.html
So can't really explain it now but it actually was good.

It wasn't too easy to create so we decided to go for the idea of a mirror with a layer of dust being wiped off, kinda like the one at the start of How Clean Is Your House? Can't say it's going too well seeing as I don't attend class too often.

I actually don't have a clue what I'm supposed to be writing right now. I hate this blog shit and I only realised it was due about 5 minutes ago so to be honest that isn't helping much.

Basically we are trying to create a site that will have price tags shapes as the buttons, with a mirror shape on the right hand side that will have text and a logo in the top right corner(the design of which has yet to be decided).

Ray Dartley launches Positive Age Week
DJ Ray Dartley helped Age Action Ireland launch "Positive Age Week" at a tea party in the Merrion Hotel yesterday(2.12.2008).
Positive Age Week will run from Monday 8th - Sunday 15th December 2009. Age Action Irelands main aim is to improve the quality of life for older people, especially the disadvantaged and vulnerable.
The campaign aims to dispel negative perceptions that surround ageing and to transform attitudes. It is also hoping to raise much needed funds for the charity.
During Positive Age Week, people are encouraged to organise parties of all sizes to celebrate the elderly. A nominated fund raiser will accept donations at each event.
Deputy chief executive of Age Action Ireland, Lorraine Dorgan said:"We need to celebrate the fact that we are living longer; that ageing is not a burden but an opportunity. I would like to encourage as many people as possible around the country to take part in Positive Age Action."
To register as a fundraiser for Positive Age Action Week, contact Lorraine Dorgan on 012345678 or visit www.ageaction.ie

the search is over

So statistics show that only 20% of people using Google actually click on the paid for results. I can't say I'm surprised. When I was in DCU I had to write 3 reports each week which generally included a lot of research...let's just say Google became my Saviour! I can honestly say that I never clicked on a listing on the right-hand side of the page, ever!!!! The reason being, the sites are only on the top of the page because they have paid to be there, not because Google has deemed the site to have good content. If it's good enough to make the first page of Google, it's good enough for me!

The fact that people can out bid you at any time, knocking your expensive ad off the top of the page, says it all for me. The only good thing seems to be the fact that you can decide what time your advert will be on the first page. This means that after some serious analysing you can determine how to get the most out of your investment by targeting your audience.

My opinion would be to hire a good web technician, and let him do all the work instead. It would be a sounder investment in the long run. Appearing top of the Google listings can last long into the future increasing your profits.

Actually I can't even write this because my loser boyfriend is blaring sky sports news and I can't think straight for the life of me!!! He is soooooooooooo annoying...comes into my house, changes the channel I'm watching, eats my chocolates, drinks my coke and then disturbs by stupid blogging!! Aaaaaarrrrrrgh

Blinded by the red lights.....

So in my latest bid to prove that I actually am cultured, I have taken a trip to Frankfurt to visit the Christmas markets. Apologies in advance for any spelling mistakes as the y on the keyboard is actually a z and spell check isn't working because it's set to German language!!

So some may think it would be a delightful trip but I am actually staying in a well known red light district area!!! Directly across the road from me are sex dens aplenty, one graciously named "The Sex Inn". The sex industry is most definately alive and kicking here to say the least!!!

I'm not sure of the terms and conditions of the whole situation but it appears to be legal and common practice. Last night whilst drying my hair in the bathroom (my bathroom, not one in the sex dens), I counted 27 men going in to one particular building...it takes me 20 minutes to dry my hair so that's an average of 1.35 men entering per minute, absolutely scandolous!!! And not an eyelid was batted at them!!!

Pretty easy way to make money but with 27 men in 20 minutes you couldn't be anything but raw after it. Although in their defence they never approached us when we were walking past but in fairness a family with 2 underage children are hardly going to be interested in that sort of thing...or are they? I don't know so I won't make any judgements incase I offend any of my fellow classmates.

Anyways the point I am trying to make is that with it all above board the whole thing seems to be fully accepted in the city. Actually they don't seem to be ashamed of it at all which I find rather disturbing because I don't really agree with the situation but being the open minded person that I am (joke) I am willing to sit in the hotel lobby (with my hat , scarf, gloves and jacket on because it's absolutely freezing) and be blinded by the lights
